3rd session in 2006
Sailed at Auckland, Bucklands Beach
Wind from the SW (knots)
        lulls: 13
        average: 19
        gusts: 25
Rated a 9 of 10

Board: Starboard Carve 99 2004 Wood
Sail: NP Saber 6.2 2005
Fin: Drake Freeride 320
Suit: Short sleeve.

Starting to nail more jibes. Perhaps 1 in 10 or 1 in 15 now succeeds. I come to a stand still, but at least I don't fall in. Hopefully this will improve quickly. If you see some of those guys just carve around, beautiful. Keep on trying.

Bucklands Beach was excellent: shortly after low tide means the water is low enough that one can beach start, instead of having to water start, which is pretty tiring. Makes it much easier to windsurf longer.

I also tried one jump, but didn't lift the board at all. The wind was pretty strong, so I didn't really want to try that more jumps. I'm sure some gusts were over 25 knots. The only thing I could do was hold on. One mistake and a somersault was the result. Crashed pretty heavily a few times.

Crossing the channel is still a scary thing, but I did make it without falling. The problem is that the water is much deeper as well, so waves were up to half a meter high at times. Anyway, excellent session.
