Sailed at Auckland, Bucklands Beach
Rated a 6 of 10
Wind from the SW (knots)
    average: 7
    gusts: 11

Board: BIC Nova
Sail: NP V8 8.5 2002
Suit: Shorties.

Went to the beach with the kids, took windsurf gear, just in case. Periods of 0 knots but also some gusts of 10-11 knots, so I decided to rig the 8.5m and have some nonplaning fun. Wasn't to bad actually. Windsurfed to Browns Island, getting there was pretty easy. Climbed to the summit of the vulcano. Great feeling to be able to windsurf to one of Auckland's many islands in this brilliant weather.

Getting back was the hard part. Pointing ability of my board/fin combination is poor, very poor. And at that time the wind mostly dropped to a few knots, so with some pumping I could keep moving, sometimes, but not usually in the proper direction. It took my probably two hours tagging back and forth to sail back one 1 kilometer. Need a bigger fin, might help a lot I think.

Would have been an 8 day if it wasn't for the lack of wind when trying to get back and the problem pointing the board.
