Wind nice all day and it still looked great when I left work. However, when I arrived at the beach, the wind had dropped. I decided to rig anyway and wait. It looked like the wind might return. It did, but only in gusts. I doubt if I would have windsurfed were it not for the fact that I'm still working on my waterstarts with the Carve 99.
And I had a far better time than I had expected. I could still stand quite a far way out, so that meant not too many waterstarts, mainly beach starts, but I even could windsurf for a while. And I got into the straps with this board, for the first time. Both feet!
Played a bit with the mast position as well, didn't know the board was so susceptible to this. I have to move the mast much more forward, I had it way to backward previously. Moving it more forward balanced the board much, much better.
Unfortunately I could ride only a short while before the wind dropped again. And the only real waterstart I tried failed. Hard, hard work those waterstarts. I only managed to get back on the board when I had drifted closer to the beach.
I was the only windsurfer, there were 8 kites or so. Looks a bit boring to me, but it seems definitely easier to learn.
More wind for Saterday, so hopefully some solid winds, and not only gusts.
