Sailed at Auckland, Bucklands Beach
Rated a 6 of 10
Wind from the SW (knots)
    lulls: 10
    average: 12
    gusts: 16

Board: BIC Nova
Sail: NP V8 8.5 2002
Suit: XCel 4/3 infinity x-zip.

Wind was shifty and gusty, but not too strong so I decided to use the V8 8.5. After getting away from the beach the gusts were strong enough and I had some nice runs. Couldn't really commit myself as my harness lines are too long. I bought these 30 inch ones a while ago, because the 26 inch I used with this sail were too short. Luckily these are adjustable, sort of, so I'll cut them back to 28 inch to see what happens.

The sail was a bit heavy, especially after I had dropped it which occurred frequently as my jibes were all failures. Too much chop and when I had started a nice jibe, my harness lines hooked in again. Which isn't a good idea when you come out of the jibe and want to flip the sail...

It's nice to be in summertime: still light past 19:30, that means more hours to windsurf after work!
