Bird Island again, this time on a NE wind day. The sensors later told me it was 18-22, gusting to 25. Perfect for my 6.5 Race. I started out on the Seatrend, but the wind was strong and consistent enough for the Screamer, so I came in for a break and swapped boards. I blasted around with about a dozen other guys for about 2 hours before I hung it up. There was still a little wind, but it was supposed to blow again tomorrow and it was getting a little dark, mainly because it was overcast. The NE direction seems cleaner, not as gusty or shifty as SE. And, with the new direction, we sailed up closer to Bird Island than in a SE, and the conditions are a little different. There are a few alleys of nice rolling 1 foot chop, nothing to worry about. But, the rest of it is more of a rattle-your-teeth ride.

Met Bill from Austin. Nice guy.
