Wind Journal for Tamay Tipton -- Friday July 01, 2005 -- See All

12th session in 2005
Sailed at The Wall
Wind from the W (mph)
        average: 28
Rated a 9 of 10

Board: Acid 62
Sail: Outlaw 3.7
Suit: 3/2 convertible

We decided to head east to avoid the beginning of the 4th of July crowd. It was a good call. I rigged 3.7 and sailed until I was way over. Before I could rig smaller the wind dropped back down. Then it came back full force very filled in. Did another session way overpowered on 3.7. The current was very, very strong being that close to the dam. It was very hard to stay downwind. Waterstarting you would float upwind quickly. The water only had about 8 people out where we were launching. It started getting busy very late. Chuck's first day at The Wall. Big Swell.
