Today was the first time I've sailed in two weeks (!) as the August doldrums kicked in. It was windy today, but I had a frustrating time.

The wind was in-between good wind for the 6.6 and the 5.4. I started with the 5.4 when I arrived, because it was pretty windy. I was able to sail okay for about 15 minutes, but then slogged for about another 15 before coming in. I adjusted my rig and went back out and slogged some more. Then I rigged my 6.6 and went out in what turned out to be the biggest wind of the day, and I was just getting killed for 15 minutes. So I came in for the 5.4 and slogged a bit more. Then I bagged it out and it worked better, but wasn't as controllable. In the end, I was able to sail, hit a few more duck jibes (but not pretty ones, I didn't plane out of them), didn't get any big jumps (either not enough or too much power), etc.

I'm not going to complain about any day I got to windsurf, and getting out of the house for an extended period of time was nice, too, but this was a frustrating day. Thankfully, the forecast is for more wind this week and weekend.
