081 - Fairly light but enough to go but not through the lulls.  It had been blowing awhile but the rain shut it off just after rigging.  It slowly returned enough to cruise Horseshoe Point really, really close both directions with the high water.  Great planing in the gusts but otherwise not in the big holes.  Went to the North Cabins a couple of times and once upwind to the KRS, it was good going but not coming back.  Sail to shore water level and good crowd today.

Great session! Made 1 or 2 sloppy geckos, quite a few SBVs, maybe 2 or 3 port spock5s, and a few accidental almost starboard spocks.

Caught a few frontside rides and made a few turns. Otherwise lots of shlog.

Pretty good day with the wind filled in all the way across the river. Started with the outhaul pulled tight and then slightly slackened as the day went on. Plenty of port jumps to practice on, since I suck at port. One attempt. Swell wasn't very big and wasn't very powerful. I really have to work on keeping the board flat or it just eats up all the momentum.

080 - Sorta surprised to get anything at all but got what appeared to be the peak for the day.  BAF to Horsehoe and the North Spoil checking out the new markers around the point.  A nice high water level made it feel safe very close to the spoils.  Gradually worked upwind into the North Basin, then BAF between the spoils and the no boat cut-off.  Was seeing whitecaps and making good progress but what were long planing runs soon became lame. Air and water a little cooler so tt was refreshing for a change.  Had fun with the CCWA poker sail on a BIC Techno One Design.  The Worldwinds 10th annual BBQ was the only reason to go today so the wind was a bonus.

Windmeter got tops of 22 knots, and it looked pretty wild out there, so started with a 5.2 and even that was overpowered. But after the first run and tuning my sail, the wind dropped to a standstil!!

Did some back and forth at slow pace, with sometimes a bit of planing. I finaly went back and rigged the 6.2 and got out again. But now the wind had picked up again, so was actually simply too much at times, but working at others. Should have stayed on the 5.2 I think.

Chop was pretty nasty because it was high tide. And Jybing didn't work well, got only a few where I didn't fell off. Not sure I will ever jybe consistly, sigh.

Was OK in the gusts. Not much swell at all. Came in once I worked my way back to the launch and sighted a barge heading upriver. Decided to skip for the Wall.

OK day at the Wall. Pretty fun. Swell was short period though. One OK attempt along with another OK one at Dougs. Nowhere close to completion. Mainly just watching things go around. Headed in when barge sighted going upriver (same one from Doug's I think :-)

Made some stuff. Missed some stuff. Then the wind mostly died and there was an amazing race.

Looked breezy but not like it was going to build much. Rigged the 5.7/94 and had a pretty good time on it for about an hour. Then it really did jack up and I just pinched up to the launch overpowered, but not tailwalking or anything. Rigged the 4.5 which was probably too small and took out the new 86 Kode I just got! Should have gone with the 5.0 and would have had easier time making up ground upwind but had plenty enough to try the new board. I demoed it last year so knew what to expect. Much easier to slash around. A bit easier in the chop, still not as smooth as I'd like. Loads easier to jump. Gotta keep it moving or sinkola. Interestingly, this board fits in my old F2 bag--the narrower outline is similar. It reminds me of my old F2. My jibes have gotten better of late but I'll need to be more careful with this guy, or lose 30 pounds.
